Dear all,

It is a common question how to resize pictures to post at this board, for example.

Aim for 800 x 800 pixels (max 1000 x 1000px) and less than 125 kb

There are many different solutions out there from using your own image processing software, to use any on-line resize services, so called jpg wizards.

A third option for you who use Firefox or Chrome browsers is to look into an add-on called Pixlr. It is very useful and can do a lot of things, and it is free. You can either add it to your browser or use some of the functions on-line.

One of the functions it that you can grab a photo on the screen and change it pretty much as much as you like to study details.

Resizing pictures is also easy. Here is how with pixlr.com/grabber/

Here are a few screen captures from this useful and free plug-in.

Crop to capture the essential part

Upload

When you are done with the cropping and resizing, save the file on your computer hard drive where you can find it.

Upload

Push the slider until the file size is max 125 KB.

Upload

Max screen size for photos is 1000 x 1000 pixels. When saving, set the largest of height or width to 1000.

Dear JE,

Thank you for this very helpful link. I hope I have finally figured out how to downsize again.

Best regards,

Lynne
