Canton porcelain

The European name for porcelain made in the city of Jingdezhen, but decorated in Canton. Primarily from the early 19th century and up until the first decades of the 20th century. Canton porcelain of the 19th century is in the US classified in different families such as Rose Medallion, Rose Mandarin etc, and typically decorated with alternate panels of figures and birds, flowers, and insects, predominately in pink and green.
