Transitional period
This is the common name for the period during which the Ming dynasty has lost, and the Qing dynasty has not yet gained, control over the Imperial porcelain factory in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province.
Several sets of slightly varying dates are given for the Transitional period, however, the most commonly used are from 1620 by the end of the Ming dynasty, Wanli period, to the establishing of production during Qing dynasty at the re-built imperial factory in Jingdezhen under Xu Tingbi in 1680, followed by Zang Yingxuan (1681-1688).
