Puyi

"Henry Pu Yi" or "Aixinjueluo Puyi" or alternate English name "Henry Aisin-gioro", (1906-1967) was the last Emperor of China. He ascended to the throne in 1908 at the age of nearly 3 and was deposed in 1911 when the Qing dynasty fell. On March 1, 1931, he was installed by the Japanese as the emperor of the "puppet state" of Manchukuo. After World War II, he was captured by the Russians and turned over to the Chinese Communists. He spent ten years in a reeducation camp before he was declared reformed and then became a supporter of the Communists. He wrote an autobiography in the 1960's and died in 1967.
