Rose Medallion

One of several standard patterns that was developed during the second half of the 19th century that became very popular on the export market of he time, primarily in North America. Characterized by a dense and colorful decoration with pink roses in the decoration and four panels surrounding a circular center, all with decorations of flowers.

A similar decoration but with figures called 'Mandarins' in the panels are called Rose Mandarin. Many different variations was developed on this theme, one of the most recognizable was mostly made up by butterflies.
